Montague Public School officially opened in 2005 and we currently serve approximately 284 students from kindergarten through to grade 8. Our school is fully accessible and has 11 homerooms, a large gym, a learning commons and three mobile computer labs. A good majority of our students are bussed to school as we serve the rural area north and east of the town of Smiths Falls.
Montague School offers a full complement of educational programs, real-world and Indigenous learning experiences aligning with the Ministry of Education curriculum including regular French programming. Our Kindergarten program is full day, every day and each of our two classrooms are staffed with both a teacher and a Registered Early Childhood Educator.
We also offer numerous intramural, athletic extracurricular teams and clubs within the school to extend student experiences. Our junior (grade 4-6) and intermediate (grade 7-8) students compete in separate divisions along with Smiths Falls and Carleton Place area schools. Our school has wi-fi available throughout for student and staff use and we are well equipped with a variety of technologies to support teaching and learning.
On behalf of the Mustang team, I wish to thank you for allowing us to share our story and look forward to you dropping by for a visit sometime.
